Fundraising Tips

The following tips will help your group have a successful fundraiser:

  1. Determine your group’s needs (purpose of your fundraiser).
  2. Set a financial goal that will allow your group to meet its needs.
  3. Develop a plan that determines how many fundraisers your group will need to conduct during the year (most groups conduct two fundraisers per year) and how much each participant will need to sale in order to reach the group’s financial goal.
  4. Choose which CGS fundraising program model works best you: Traditional, Seller’s Choice or Hassle Free. If you need help deciding, a CGS representative will be happy to assist you. Give us a call at 1-877-574-4241.
  5. Help motivate participants by including a prize program and use other incentives.
  6. Determine the length of your fundraiser. Most groups choose 2-3 weeks. However, the longer the fundraiser, the more likely it will lose its appeal with participants.
  7. Schedule your fundraiser (start and end dates) making sure the dates do not conflict with other scheduled events.
  8. Read and sign a fundraising agreement. This will help you understand how the program will work and what to expect from CGS.
  9. Throw a KICK OFF to help motivate participants.
  10. Motivate participants throughout the fundraiser. Remind them of the prize program and other incentives.
  11. Gather volunteers to help check over order forms and count money.
  12. Collect order forms and money from participants.
  13. Thoroughly check order forms and make sure the correct amount of money is collected from each participant.
  14. Conduct a review of the fundraiser and give feedback to CGS.
  15. Schedule next fundraiser.
